Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about any of my photography? This FAQ section makes things simple. I’ve tried to cover all the common questions here. General details on how I run my shoots. You’ll find quick answers so you know exactly how I create and the techniques I use behind the images.

Preparation is not always simple!  Sometimes I am lucky to have the help of a team with the preperation and execution of an entire shoot. Other times it could just be me and the subject. Which ever it may be, their is always something that makes the process that little bit harder. Health of team members, locations and weather if outside can all play a factor on whether the shoot goes ahead as planned.

Most sessions last between two and four hours, depending on the type of shoot and the number of locations. This gives us enough time to capture a variety of poses and natural moments without feeling rushed. I will always give myself more time than i need so everything flows smoothly, and the team will have plenty of time to feel relaxed, enjoy the experience, and create photos that feel effortless and true to the concept.

This can vary from shoot to shoot. I take time to carefully select and edit each photo, ensuring the highest quality of images. I use an online program to share with the subject or client. So they will receive your gallery digitally, making it easy to download, share, or print accordingly. If a quicker turnaround is required, I will do my best to accommodate the clients timeline. This could mean certain images and certain shoots will take priority.

This is relevent for what you are shooting. The correct equipment is key to any shoot. Camera choice, lighting etc. can give you better results if its cut out for the task. Look at what you wish to achieve as an image result and then choose the appropriate equipment not the other way around. Sometimes when you are on a budget with the gear you can buy or hire, this may dominate what results you can achieve. The opposite can be said when purchasing a new camera or light rig. Don’t over spend on equipment that has features you are never going to need. You may be able to find gear that has everything you want for your shoots, for a cheaper price.

A question asked a lot. No I don’t shoot weddings. Wedding photography is a demanding process, that requires the photographer to commit to long hours. Wedding dates also do not change very often, so photographers are out in all weathers and other difficult conditions they have no control over, trying to bring there clients images of the perfect day. A stressful lifestyle that also needs good time management. Saying that, I do know a photographer/videographer who may be able to do that service for you. So please drop me a line and i will see if we can help.

I’m happy to concider it. If you are a professional model, meaning this is your full time job we can come to some agreement payment/TFP wise. If you are not a professional we can still create some work together but you will not be paid. You will though recieve approximately 25 fully edited Jpeg images to use how you wish. Every model/client I work with must be over 18 and be able to prove this with documentation, or be accompanied by a parent/guardian who give myself and you permission to shoot. All models that I haven’t worked with before will have to sign a model release form. This is only to protect myself and my images in a copyright dispute. Feel free to contact me if you wish to know more. It would be lovely to hear from you.

RAW files are never given out. RAW files are the master copies of your images which hold the most information for editing purposes. Most photographers shoot digital images as Raw and keep these files in order to be able to edit an image to a high standard. These are very rarely given to models/clients as who ever owns the RAW file, owns the copyright to the image.
